Our Approach: We live in a complex world, and such are the situations that we encounter in our center. In some of the cases we handle, there is a straightforward solution to a particular, isolated ailment, and we can often address it in a few sessions using a problem-solving approach. However, in many cases, there is a more fundamental core issue that requires attention. In those cases, by providing a safe space and facilitating self-awareness and self-development, we can uncover these core issues and transcend them once and for all. We strongly believe that people already have within themselves what they need to heal and better succeed in life. Our job is help you uncover and bring those parts to light. Our Specialties: Themes that often come up with adults we see include:
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Past trauma and PTSD
  • Autism spectrum disorder
  • Substance and alcohol abuse
  • Grief and loss
  • Health and chronic health problems
  • Life transitions (health, divorce, moving, loss of job, etc.)
  • Parenting challenges
  • Self-esteem and lack of confidence
  • Financial hardships
  • Setting life goals
  • Stress management
  • Relationship challenges
  • Career problems and development
  • Personal growth
  • Sexual functioning
Treatment Modality: As the problems of adults are complex and multidimensional, so too are the interventions. Treatment may include many elements such as education about mental health issues, learning coping skills, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to work with thoughts and behavior, using dynamic therapy to process difficult emotions, practicing mindfulness techniques to increase self-awareness and emotional intelligence, and using biofeedback to work with panic and anxiety. In addition to these specific techniques, we greatly emphasize the importance of the relationship with the therapist and creating a safe place to handle what comes up together. So often, the development of mental health problems, depression, or anxiety stems from difficulty with facing what is really going on. This may show up in the form of avoidance, numbness, suppression, and abuse. By simply being in a space that allows you to face these hard states for what they are, you will immediately take great strides toward wellness.
